Ladies - We've been able to talk a little about doubles strategy last couple times together. I found a couple videos that explain why it is best to get both players to the net, when to poach and general movement in doubles. Watch these a couple times really. They're that good. I learned to communicate well with your partner, talking before every point. I also learned to move together with your partner. The last thing I learned that you should time your poach with when your opponent's racquet is dropping, not when the serve hits the service box.

I learned that communicating, supporting, and moving together with your partner is really important. It is also important to know where your partner is, and to constantly adjust your positions on the court.

Communication is the key when playing in doubles, to know what the other person is doing, along with encouragement. Also I learned the five tactics in doubles; being consistent, being accurate, having a good position, playing to the strengths of your team, and making sure to exploit opponents weakness. Also movement around the court and adjusting your positions.

I learned that your poaching is based on your partners serve. If your partner has an aggressive serve then you move to poach sooner, and if it is a slower serve to wait, otherwise the returner will have time to hit it down the line

I learned that when playing doubles communication and moving with your partner are key. When placing your shot you should try and spread your opponents out creating a gap for you to hit at and easily get the point.
